How to use this website.
General information on how the US legal system is set up and the difference between the body of our law and the practice of law, is in our introductory articles. Also look at the books in the "Basics" section of our book store.
If you already understand the basics of our legal system or you are looking for more detailed information on a specific topic, look at the Common Self Help Topics menu to the left and the the "Topics" section of our book store.
If you are facing a specific legal problem that you need to resolve or you are preparing to represent yourself in court, you will want to review each section sequentially so you first, understand how our legal system works, second understand your topic, then look at our "Representing Yourself in Court" section of our bookstore, the "Legal Services" section of our Resource Directory, and go to our "How To" section for more advanced educational articles. Our How To section requires a subscription. We DO NOT advise ANYONE to attempt representing them self in court unless you know what you are doing.
If you like our website but do not find articles and resources on your specific topic, you can Sponsor a topic and we will develop it for you and everyone who comes after you in need of the information. This requires submitting your proposal so we know we can provide what you want and you do not expect something we can not.
